I have a shiny new air2pc card (HD5000) that shipped last week. Found http://www.hd5000.com to help me compile a new kernel with patches for the new card. I can get it to record HD tv content and play in mplayer (using dvb-apps -> azap). However, I'm still lost as to getting channels into Mythtv.

I'm using off the air for my programming. I did a scan in the channel editor, and it found several stations. However, it didn't setup the PID information in the dvd_channel table. Just a note: i only know this much from surfing around various website.. I don't know how to fix this or what to do.

Anyone have any ideas on how to create the PID information into the myth database? When i try to watch Live, myth backend dies. I can't access the logs from work, otherwise I'd post them. But it says somethingl like "PIDS not setup, please fix".

Thanks.

There are several posts on the forum on setting up an HD tuner. Didn't those work? The process should be the same. You can also upgrade to the SVN version of MythTV where the setup process is greatly simplified. BTW: Testing the next release, the 5000 works out the box! :)

Umm.. Never done SVN. I did a quick search here, and didn't find much help (usually i luckout).

I thought this was a specific problem to this card, i'll look for HD setup in general.

How do I download and/or compile an SVN? I'll be upgrading from 0.18.0

Naturally, a few minutes after posting, i found it on mythtv.org

Any "warnings" or "gotchas" you wish to `document' so that I and others know what to look out for?

I'm compiling on my backend and front now.. Hope it works...[/url]

Nothing that hasn't been documented here on compiling from source (or in the MythTV docs).

It's working... Sorta kinda. LOL

I had to build it a few times. Finally, subversion 7340 worked. :-)

The audio is like static, but i think i saw somewhere to fix that.. Just need to find that again.

The video is also really slow.. Is this an Xvmc issue? I'm running and AMD 2600+ with 512meg ram. I hope that's enough... I'm so new to this, wish there was a doco that's up to date that I can follow.

That's not enough to view HD material unless you turn on XvMC (and get prepared for the resulting flakiness with jumping forward/back, gray on-screen display, possible crashes of frontend, etc).

I have an HD5000 card. I got frustrated trying to compile a kernel with the drivers. After reading the post above that says the next release will work out of the box with the HD5000, I decided to just wait.

Is there an estimation on when it will be released? If it is soon, I'll continue waiting. If it is going to be a while, I might look at another way to get it working.

Thank you in advance for any information.

Cheers,
