I want to set up a new mythtv box that supports HDTV and was wanting hardware suggestions. I have had problems setting up mythtv on a couple of my older machines and want to avoid that with my new machine. This new machine would serve as a standalone backend and frontend. I plan on using the pcHDTV-3000 tuner. Will this record standard TV too? I have a PVR-250 card I can use with it if need be. I also want to stick with AMD CPU's because you get way more bang for the buck. What speed would you recommend? So, can anyone suggest a main board and video card that doesn't cost a fortune and is known to work well with knoppmyth? Preferably one with audio, video and LAN built on. I'd like the video card to have DVI output and support my TV's native resolution of 1368X768 if possible. Also can you suggest a fairly cheap case thats really quiet? Do I need anything else? Thanks |

You might also want to use the specs on Dragon as a starting point. It's the first KnoppMyth Reference Platform hardware list (more on that in the sticky at the top of the hardware section). |
