I am in the progress of putting together a hdtv box and would like some advice on the hardware.

First is the processor. I am leaning towards and amd 64 3200+. I have read some opinions that Intel is little stronger for hdtv. I am concerned about going with intel because I have not heard of many sucessful systems on the board. Also Amd is used in dragon. If I get the amd chip then I will likely get the MSI K8N NEO4 Platinum per the dragon standard. I like asus for pc's but it seems the MSI is more popular. Are there any thoughts.

For a video card I was planning on getting the asus Extreme N6200TC256/TD in the dragon platform. I liked having the dvi output. I will be playing this on my panasonic th-50px50u. This tv play 1080i content. I have read that the 5200 should work with the 6629 drivers and therefore may be better at 1080i. Any cons to the 6200.

Thanks for any and all help.

No choice in the matter, 5200 is AGP/PCI only as far as I've seen. The motherboard in question needs a PCI-e x16 video card which means 6200 or later.

What would be more important getting the 5200 or the msi neo4 platinum motherboard. Can I get the output I want on the 6200.

Magic 8 Ball says - results are mixed.

Find a success story with proven hardware (like Dragon) and get the exact same card.
