I am using R5A30.1 and trying to get my HD5000 to work. I am able to successfully add it to mythtv-setup and scan for channels. The channels seem to be added successfully, and seem to match up with what my HDTVs tuner picks up. Unfortunately when I select live TV, mythtv eventually reverts back to the frontend.

So, I assuming I need to enter PIDS some where. How can I do that?

I have also made sure that a good channel is listed under the input connects, although I do have a question about the format...

I want to enter 13-1 and have tried 13-1, 13_1, and 131. Which one is correct?

I have exactly the same problem with R5A30.2 with the same card, trying to watch TV, it times out after about 15 seconds with the same errors in the log. I've been googling about this error with no help so far.

i have same problem with hauppauge wintv nova pci. i've trying all things that i've read in forum threads.

1º.- Re-scan channels with mythbackend stopped.
2º.- Insert channel data manually in db (with same dvb_pids).
3º.- Use same perl script that i found.

Anyone know what data column parameters is necesary on this tables?:
- dvb_pids
- dvb_channel
- channel?

is this a bug of knoppmyth R5A30.1 AND R5A30.1?

Post subject: Got it working! (partially)

Step One: /etc/init.d/mythtv-backend stop
Step Two: Run mythtv-setup
Step Three: Run the channel editor
Step Four: For every channel with a non-numeric character in the channel number (like an underscore) replace with a numeric string. For 22_3, I did 223. Try 22.3, if it works, let us all know.
Step Five: Run the card editor, turn on TS and Turn on DVB
Step Six: Exit and run mythfilldatabase
Step Seven: run /usr/local/bin/DVB-fixer.sh
Step Eight: /etc/init.d/mythtv-backend start
Step Nine: Start myth!
Step Ten: Watch TV
Step Eleven: If you have your tuner starting on a weak channel, I think that can cause Myth to crash, use the up and down arrow (if, like me, you don't yet have an IR remote) to tune.

This got me working!

This is my error on DVB_fixer.sh script execute:
root@mythtv:/myth/tmp# /usr/local/bin/DVB_fixer.sh

/usr/local/bin/DVB_fixer.sh: ...and you do, so we need to fix your channel database .
/usr/local/bin/DVB_fixer.sh: Creating directory /root/tmp
/usr/local/bin/DVB_fixer.sh: (storing backups and temporary files in /root/tmp)

You probably should modify the Master Server settings
in the setup program and set the proper IP address.

i live in spain and i haven't a zap2it service for my channels.
