I am looking into buying a transcoder to be able to use VGA to component. Most of them I have found have been 120+ dollars. I found a site that is selling a do it yourself VGA to component transcoder kit.

I was wondering if any of you had any experience with this kit? For its price it seems to be worth it. But I would like to know if there is any other transcoder that any of you would recommend me using.

while that kit does look cool and I like the extra vga passthrough. (mega geek points if your into that) the soldering of surface mount chips is nothing to sneeze at if you don't have experience.

most of the premade ones are 100+ though.
