Post subject:  Audio Sync Issues

When watching HD recordings, my audio some times gets out of sync with the video. This frequently happens after fast-forwarding. I can fix it by exiting out and restarting the video.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I have problems only with 1080i recordings (CBS and NBC). 720p recordings work perfectly for me (FOX and ABC). I haven't debugged the problem too much, because most of the shows I watch are in 720p. With 1080i recordings, the audio sometimes goes out of sync, and the video sometimes stutters.

FWIW, I have an unusal setup for viewing HD content: I'm using S-Video out to an old SD tube. So I'm viewing the 1080i content at a desktop of 1024x768, squeezing onto an NTSC tube that is 480i. I decided to wait until I have a real HDTV before I stress out too much about 1080i recordings. What is your setup like?

I'm using:
Knoppmyth R5B7
FX5200 with S-Video out
2xWinTV 150s
FusionHDTV 3 Gold-T
FusionHDTV 5 Lite
Pentium 4 2.6 Ghz
ECS Mobo with Intel 848P chipset

I get this a lot too, haven't noted whether it only applies to 1080i or 720p.
But a quick "skip back" usually does the trick.

My sig pretty much outlines my setup. My video output goes from VGA, to a 9A60 (converts to component) and then hits my HDTV component inputs.

The skipping does fix my audio sync. The skipping is usually what introduces it. The only thing that fixes it is exiting out of the recording and restarting it.
