There is a setting in setup that you can turn on that I understand may fix your problem:
Setup -> Media Settings ->Archive File Settings (page 2) -> Always use Mythtranscode

Hope this helps.

well i did some more testing. and now im cornfused. i can transcode to mpeg4 and make a good dvd but if its transcoded and commercials cut it ruins the audio sync. BUT just to test it i used the "transcode to xvid" script i got from this forum, then made that into a dvd and it worked. that kinda makes me think theres an option missing from the ffmeg command in mythburn? i dunno, noone else has a problem with this?

I have exatly the same problem. The sync is fine at the beginning of the DVD, but as you
get to the end after several commercials have been cut out the sync gets worse and worse.
By the end of the DVD the sound is about a half second off.

I know this is an old post, but I fought similar problems for so long I thought I would add this for others to see.

If your problem is an audio drift over time then this may help.

The fixes that I did in this post (look for post by cliffsjunk):
http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=13552&highlight=first+second
Fixed the audio sync issues that I had in the DVD's that I burned.

If anyone tries this for this issue, please post if it helped.
