Have you tried Webmin. It has a good file manager along with many other utilities that I use all the time. It it already installed when you installed Knoppmyth.

I prefer it because Webmin seems to keep working when you get that black screen and all other options have crashed. It also works when the hard drives are 100% full and other programs won't start.

That worked, thanx. So now I will need to use the command prompt in putty to transfer the file from the root to the desired folder, correct?

once you ssh into the myth box you will then need to su to root and move the file to where it needs to go.

The very first folder in the directory is "/" That is where the file went. When I go to the command prompt in putty after logging in I get
root@mythtv:/#
When I try to patch the file, it says no such file exists.

ok, I found the file with putty, and when I enter the code to patch it I get this message:

Perhaps you used the wrong -p or --strip option?
