I have a backend controlling 4 DCT2000 series STBs and would like to be able to navigate the Comcast OnDemand menus from a remote frontend.

I am using the channel script with a serial cable to change channels on the boxes and a little investigation has shown that the script knows the LEFT, RIGHT, UP, DOWN, and SELECT keys and can send them.

The problem is that with 4 different boxes the arrows and select must be sent through the backend to get to the correct STB. Is there a way for the external tuner mechanism in the backend to direct the arrows and select to the STB? The directing of channel changing seems to be done internally and therefore seems to be inaccessible to the user.

If anyone has any suggestions they would be most appreciated.

Thank-You.

Another possible route. Is there a way for a script to determine which tuner card it is watching? Then send a command to the appropriate channel change script on the backend.
