My FE met with disaster this week when the hard disk crashed. So I read up on diskless frontends and set it up. The script worked well (thanks to all that contrbuted) but my FE is a Dell laptop and the xorg that I now have is the one copied from the BE. Is there a config script or process auto make a xorg.conf?

My LCD screen (1024x768) comes up OK but I use a Averkey to convert my VGA to TV and I cant get that to work?

I am using R5F27.

Thanks for any help

Not sure how this fits into the diskless picture, but on an ordinary debian based box a:

dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

would do it. Google might also help you out if you search for "<laptop model> xorg.conf"

Thanks mac but that didn't seem to work for me. There is some problem with access the usr directory and it stopped the utility from running. I took up your second recommendation though and googled till I was able to piece some xorg.conf togeather. All working now.
