I noticed some plans in the Google 'Summer of Code' competition, to overhaul the MythMusic interface. I agree, it's pretty awkward in comparison to using a Squeezebox (http://www.slimdevices.com) or an iPod. And it doesn't have internet streams built in, it doesn't synch music streams through your house, etc etc.

Now, I'm not a C coder, but I would've thought it shouldn't be too hard to have a dig through one of the open source Slim players, and build a Myth module to replace MythMusic, that acts as a Slim player - just with a bigger screen and visuals.

Any thoughts?

G'day,

I would assume so, just take your fav player and do something the same as xine does when you play a dvd.

Not that I really want all the flash graphics. I assume you can run the java softsqueeze if you just wanted simplicity.

You would need to do something with the remote, that might be hard with softsqueeze.

Thanks stinga, noticed someone else doing that too. Might give it a try one day.
