Knoppmyth newbie question..I would like to display and control the knoppmyth menu on my television. Is this an easy setup/configuration? If so what kind of card is recommended? I'm currently running Knoppmyth R5E50. Thnx

Really very easy now, I recommend the Haupauge 350 card, and when installing you will get autodetect and it will install and play to the tv.
Here is a link for the setup.

I would recommend getting familiar with the forum and the Wiki, there are so many good articles.
Also read the user guide

One thing I have found here is that you don't want to ask questions without doing the research, everyone is willing to help but no one wants to read the manual to you.
Good luck
:P

Use an nVidia card, hook it up to your TV and reboot, should be that easy. What remote are you planning to use, or are you going to have keyboard/mouse control?

Thank you very much for that information. I have no problem reading the manual, but my problem was locating information pertaining to tv out with knoppmyth. I searched both google and the forum but was unseccessfull. Unfortunately I have a 150 and not a 350, but hopefully this will be painless. To my understanding you need some type of tv video card for tv out...I'll read through the docs and if I have any questions I will post it back..Thnx

For general inforamtion see the section on video cards here: http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=PickingComponents don't miss the link to this page: http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=VideoCards

GIven a card with decent tv-out support it's usually pretty much plug and play.

You really haven't given us enough information to make a good recommendation. Do you have an SDTV or and HDTV? What kind of content are you working with? What kind of inputs does the TV have? ...

slowtern: To answer your question, I plan on using a remote. The tuner card PVR-150 that I bought came with the silver RC6 remote which I have yet got to work. To my understanding, it might not even be possible. Still looking into it

tjc: To answer you question, I believe I have an SDTV. A regular tube television with s-video and RCA jacks. It looks like I will be going with the GeForce FX5200 card for tv out. According to the doc's, this is my best option for ease of configuration and quality...

The FX5200 has treated me well, and I heartily recommend it for an AGP card. Get a good fanless one (still really inexpensive at <$60 USD) with 8X AGP, DVI and S-Video outputs, and at least 128Mb of DDR. Not only does the DVI give you the ability to drive an HDTV in the future but it seems to correlate with better S-Video output for the present. Double check under the DTV topic to verify which ones are known to work well for maximum HDTV resolutions.

I have this same remote, and it works fine. I wish I could remember everything I did to get it to work, but it wasn't very hard.
It's NOT the Happauge driver, its the mceusb2 driver.
Also you need to take a look at this post http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=13108 ,particularly section 2a #4. I will try to find the post that explains it in more detail.

Hope this helps
