I did a search and could not see a problem similar to this one. When my mythfilldatabase runs, it runs correctly and downloads the icons and the program data, but when it completes it doesnt seem to update MythTV correctly. When I view the status of the backend it has the following:

Code:
Last mythfilldatabase run started on 2007-01-15 18:18 and ended on 2007-01-15 18:22. mythfilldatabase ran, but did not insert any new data into the Guide. This can indicate a potential grabber failure.
There's guide data until 2032-03-10 14:00 (9186 days).

When mythfilldatabase runs it completes and the final messages are:

Code:
Updated programs: 8570  Unchanged programs: 0
2007-01-15 18:26:31.712 Data fetching complete.

What should be updated and is there something I can set to ensure that this information is communicated to the backend server.

You seem to have gotten some screwy listing data in the DB. You may want to purge it and retry. Don't forget to check that the system clock is rtight before doing this. These instructions may help: http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=ChannelLineupIsOff Even if your time is right, the information about purging an reloading the DB may be relevant.

Thanks tjc, I had a look in the database and there was a stay line with a date in 2032!!! Not sure how it got there but I removed the line and then re-ran mythfilldatabase and the update was successfully.

Thanks for the help.

I have a simular problem, mythfilldatabase runs but doesn't insert any data into the database. (But when I run 'mythfilldatabase --update' manually it works perfectly.)

I've searched the forum repeatedly (trust me  ) but couldn't find any solution.

AdamC could you please tell me what you did exactly.

On my mythtv box I installed phpMyAdmin (using apt-get install) from this I had a look at the Programs table in the converg database. I ordered it by date and saw that I had a program that was suppose to end in 2030.

I've no idea how it got there but by deleting it using phpMyAdmin it solved the problem the next time mythfilldatabase updated.

You can also do this without having to install anything by using mythtv-setup following the directions linked above.

I used Webmin to search the database, BUT I didn't find my problem.

tjc: By purging, you mean dropping all the video sources?

And what is purged by dropping the video sources? I mean which information/DB tables; program guide, oldprogram, but also recording schedules?

Recording schedules are separate. I don't know about oldprograms but suspect that's not touched either. See the wiki page for the other details.
