I'm running R5C7 with a PVR350 for capture and playback. I've gotten a simple video camera with composite output to work on channel zero by connecting it via an adapter to the SVideo input on the PVR350, but I'm fairly certain that the PVR can't record over the SVideo and the tuner at the same time.

Is it possible for Mythtv to play nice with Motion so that when the tuner is not it use Motion can monitor the SVideo input for activity on the camera?

I haven't been able to get Motion to work yet. I can't remember how to figure out what /dev/ file corresponds to my PVR350 so I tried puting /dev/video0, /dev/video1, /dev/video2 into the Motion config file one at a time, but Motion fails to start.

Could it be because Mythtv has the video capture interface hogged or have I just not found the right /dev/ file yet?

Hi,
You might see if anything here is of value:

A search for motion brings a few items. I would suggest simply plugging in an Osprey or other bttv card because of the mpeg output of the 350 requires extra tlc.

Motion will not run until all is right with the system.

Mike
