Kevin, that's great news! I look forward to hearing more as this plays out!

Marc,

I repeated the experiment, except I did it for a setup of just three digital channels only. However in my program guide I still only saw the guide data for one channel. Then I noticed in labs.zap2it that even though I had modified the lineup so it had three channels, for some reason when I went back later to check, it had reverted to just the original single channel. I know this sounds really strange but it is almost as if the act of running mythfilldatabase had caused it to loose my latest line-up on labs.zap2it :?

Anyway, I decided to try again, deleting the video sources, etc but this time I set up labs.zap2it for the full lineup of 18 digital channels. I left myself logged into the labs.zap2it page just in case that logging out immediately wasn't giving it time to update it's database. Before I ran mythfilldatabase I went in using Webmin and fixed up the chanid (even though it probably doesn't matter) and I also filled in the missing 'tvformat' values (I set them to 'Default' to match the other channels).

Then I ran 'mythfilldatabase --refresh-all' and checked the program guide in MythTV, this time everything is there :D

Note, initially I just ran mythfilldatabase without the 'refresh-all' but it didn't update anything. It seems to be necessary to run with the refresh option at least once.

I am not sure what are the minimum steps I could get away with, for example I don't know if it is absolutely necessary to fix up the chanid and the missing tvformat fields but since it works for me that will be my flow from now on.

Next I plan to work on getting the icons loaded as they are missing from all but a couple of channels. I read a post on this forum about a script to fix this, I will go looking for it now.

The intermittent problem with myth backend now starting seems to have gone away for now, so I will have to look at that later,

thanks to everyone who has helped me with this saga with the program guide, I really appreciate it,

Kevin

Kevin, congradulations on figuring this out -- great work! I suspect you are correct that the chanid change is not required...
