I'm a complete newb...so please don't kill me.

I've got a P4 1.8ghz 512ram w/ pvr 350

No problems w/ any hardware stuff but I put in my zapt2it.com info and it flies through the progress bar and doesn't list anything in the "data direct lineup" box. This is about my 10th install today and so far only once it has received that info. (the box had the correct information for my cable company).

Not sure what to do considering the whole myth thing won't work w/o it. Thanks.

While you didn't mention the Black Screen when trying to watch TV, the tips within that wiki entry most likely hold the key to your problem.

Verify you have selected the 'MPEG2 Encoder" for your 350, and don't scan for channels. Also, login to labs.zap2it.com and verify your settings (username and password), keeping in mind that they are case sensitive...

EDIT: Note that you don't have to reinstall, you can run mythtv-setup to re-run the setup of your cards/inputs/etc. /EDIT

I looked @ the wiki entry and it doesn't seem to help. For some reason nothing will connect w/ the internet. I'm able to fine on the connection I'm using for any other computer and I was able to earlier today...but it will say "DHCP fail" during setup then never connect after that.

Well, that would be a problem. Try running netcardconfig from an Xterm (Alt-X will pop one up, type "exit" when you're done with it) to reconfigure your NIC. You may need to be root to do this, try in the Xterm

If that still fails, you will need to provide specifics on your hardware - Motherboard, NIC, etc (make and model)

BTW, which version of KnoppMyth have you installed?

I'm gettin' there.
I've got the datadirect working and most of the video.

I'm able to view my main menu and everything on the TV, when I go to live i get a black screen....but if I bring up my menu I can actually get the video through the transparent menu.

Audio works fine.

I got it to work. there was for some reason a glitch...I just looked @ the PVR 350 menu and changed what device it was and it fixed...then i changed it back and it still works!
