You must spend a helluva lot more time in the setup screens than I do

I'm in the process of setting up a new tuner, so the past few
days I've spent a lot of time on the setup screens.

Are you having trouble with specific setup pages or all of them?

All of them. I must have the font sizes screwed up somehow.
The "next" "prev" buttons are off screen on many the setup
pages. You can just barely see the tops of the those buttons
on the rest.

Using the back arrow in my browser seems to get me back where I

I used the the "back to the listings" link on the recording
options page never used to work quite right for me: it always
returned me to the listings for the current date/time. It
looks like that's been fixed. Yay! Now it goes back to the
listing page you came from. :)

I don't know that the Height/Width/Offsets adjustments effect the mythtv-setup screens (I'll have to look when I get home), but it works a treat on the Utilities/Setup screens.

Yep, had the same thing on all my systems until I adjusted Height/Width/Offsets.

EDIT: The other thing to look into would be the overscan options in nvidia-settings. I've not used them so I don't know how they work, but others have posted success... /EDIT

You can access the screens remotely using ssh too:

Code:
ssh mythtv -l mythtv -X "mythwelcome --setup"

Code:
ssh mythtv -l mythtv -X "mythtv-setup"

Yes, we've already discussed that: the GUI is very, very, slow
when you do that (I've found that using -Y instead of -X helps
somewhat). The authors of recent GUI toolkits (e.g. Gtk, Qt)
have abandonted the idea of network transparancy that was an
important part of X11 for decades. Older toolkits like Motif
worked fine over a network connection, but most "modern" apps
that use Gtk or Qt are pretty much unusable via a remote X
server.

In the case of mythtv-setup, the initial GUI screen takes
several minutes to paint, and certain other operations also
take several minutes. With most keypresses there is a delay of
a second or two before anything happens. IOW, the whole
experience is pretty unpleasant.

I would expect that VNC should speed up things considerably
since it obviates the requirement for billions and billions of
round-trips between client and server over the network for every
user event.
