In reading through various posts, I've run across this discrepancy. In one user's dmesg (reprinted in an R5E50 thread about the DVB/alsa problem), the system is trying to load or access cx88_alsa.

However, in the /etc/modutils/alsa-base file, I find the last line:


This is the same syntax suggested in the main R5E50 'tips and tricks' thread.

So, are these two different files, or the same? If so, which is right?

I seem to remember something weird here, but it won't hurt to put both versions in the file...
