Yesterday I went to pull some video files from my mythbox via the /myth/pretty folder and noticed that the folder had not been update with the recording happening after my upgrade to R5F27, last Thursday.

Checking my /etc/cron.hourly/pretty file it executes the mythlink.sh file which calls the mythrename.pl script.

Is something amiss with mythrename.pl or is it my cron.daily? Wondering if anyone else is having this problem?

Any assistance would be appreciate.
Thanks in advance.

Does /var/log/syslog indicate any errors with regard to the mythrename process? Did you change the hostname of the machine or the password for DB access?

doing a quick search of the syslog file shows not mention of mythrename or mythlink. I have also not made any changes to the DB password that I can remember. I change the webmin, samba, and mythweb passwords but those should not effect the DB.

Hmmm, sounds like it's not running. What happens if you run /etc/cron.hourly/pretty manually from an XTerm? Any errors?

It seems to run fine from any user, no errors and all file are listed in the pretty folder, if I know the correct password for the mythtv user (default password). Shall see what happens after tonight when the box is done recording.

It seems that none of my cron jobs are running, period. Is there a way to see what users cron jobs will run for or if my cron is running at all?
