Huh? You need MythTV to boot from a CD, yet you don't want the MythTV frontend? Sorry, this doesn't make any sense. With KnoppMyth, you can use the CD as a live frontend.

ähhh, I want Myth TV fronted, if I can use it from CD. I ve tested yesterday evening knoppMyth but it seems, knopp myth dosn't run with a matrox g450.

So... please tell me what Myth TV -fronted is and where I can download it?

Hi,

I think you may be missing the concept. Before you can use just a "frontend" you need to also have a "backend" . Most folks simply do an auto install and dedicate a machine to be both frontend & backend. Then later, use something else to be a remote frontend.

The R5C7 iso has just about everything most folks need and will install very nicely. Later that same cd can then be booted into running as a live cd for a remote frontend.

Hope this is helpful for you. And yes, I personnally think KnoppMyth is the best also.

backend and fronted
are somtihng like Master and slave? ( I mean the fronted is just a "terminal, wich controll the backend maschine? And with the ISO of knoppmyth I can run maschine without "backend and fronted" maschine?

Hi,
You must use the cd to install system to a hard drive of at least 20 gig or greater. Once installed, and you have done the settings, you should have a bootable, fully operational system. System is defined as a frontend and a backend on one machine. The frontend is not a terminal, it is part of the application that you use to interface with the backend.

Best teacher is to install it, run it for awhile to see all the features and possibilities. You should also then learn what hardware that is needed for best system. Please use the forum and search for more ideas and understanding.
