Post subject:  Blank recordings -- SOLVED

Hello,

I just loaded R5C7 on a new hard drive (fresh install). I've got almost everything working except my recordings.

If I watch live TV, I can go to the Media Library and watch what was recorded. However, if I record something from the scheduler, the file in the Media Library is blank.

I'm sure I've missed something simple but, going through my notes for previous installs I can't figure out what it is.

Thanks,
Scott

Hi sjasmund,

Do alt + s and check your settings, maybe you are sending it somewhere you don't want to be.

I've been through that forwards and backwards and nothing is jumping out at me. Is there a specific area I should be looking?

Thanks,
scott

I figured it out... I just needed to go back to the Input Connections and set everything to NONE except Tuner0.

Thanks,
Scott

Hi sjasmund,

I performed a clean install of R5C7, and I am having this same issue, as you described, however, mine is intermittent. I can schedule recordings, and sometimes I have a recording, and sometimes not. I only have one tuner, and am using only one input source from that tuner. All other are set (NONE). Code from DMESG:

$ dmesg | grep bttv
bttv: driver version 0.9.16 loaded
bttv: using 8 buffers with 2080k (520 pages) each for capture
bttv: Bt8xx card found (0).
bttv0: Bt878 (rev 17) at 0000:00:09.0, irq: 10, latency: 32, mmio: 0xdddfe000
bttv0: using: Jetway TV/Capture JW-TV878-FBK, Kworld KW-TV878RF [card=78,insmod option]
bttv0: gpio: en=00000000, out=00000000 in=003fffff [init]
bttv0: using tuner=5
bttv0: i2c: checking for TDA9875 @ 0xb0... not found
bttv0: i2c: checking for TDA7432 @ 0x8a... not found
bttv0: i2c: checking for TDA9887 @ 0x86... not found
bttv0: registered device video0
bttv0: registered device vbi0
bttv0: registered device radio0
The bttv_* interface is obsolete and will go away,

Anyone know: Should I have 2, (bttv and bttv0), bttv's here? Is this normal when you have 1 tuner? I don't remember what this looked like on prior installs.

This appears to be my only, major unresolved issue, with the R5C7 clean install.
