Ok, I have everything working and have video and audio just fine, but I have 2 problems

Problem 1: the video is fuzzy and not sharp at all and has some little lines moving through it like it has a refresh problem or something.

Problem 2: All of my schedules are off by -5 hours, and I know it is because I didnt set the time correctly in the setup, how do I change the time settings at this point?

1. I am a linux noob and dont know how to get into a linux window to put commands in and stuff.

2. The pictures are actually BETTER at higher channels.

Ok I got the timing corrected and all, but I still have the problem with the fuzziness, frequencies didnt help

You're not providng a lot of information to go on...

- What are you using for output?

- What is your output resolution?

- What are you using for capture?

- What are your capture parameters?

- Are you deinterlacing the output? Have you tried fiddling with the playback setup and turning on "bob" deinterlacing or the like?

1. Geforce 3 Ti200 Composite Output (RCA cable)

2. Whatever it automatically sets at? NTSC?

3. Hauppage PVR250 Cable from Cable Line

4. What are capture Parameters?

5. I have tried all options of deinterlacing and not deinterlacing at all.

The composite output is probably at least part of your problem, and that card is old enough that I don't think you can use nvidia setting to tune up your video or fix your overscan settings either.

See this wiki page of log files and check what resolution it's using in your X log. http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=CheckingLogFiles I found that switching to an output resolution (640x480) that better matched the capture resolution (480x480) produced far better picture quality.

OK, pretty vanilla.

Under setup look at your recording profiles. I'm guessing that you're using the default profile and it's 480x480 but double check on that.

Some of these are affected by other factors like the MPEG decoder library or whether or not you're using XvMC.
