hi folks, I am trying to figure out how to get my old IRMAN working with my hauppage silver remote (or any remote, for that matter). Must I remove and recompile lirc to include IRMAN support in R5B7? I apologize if this has been covered, but I've searched the forum archives and googled and can't find a definitive answer. -sTv |

To follow-up my own query (or at least to show my stupendous ignorance), I'll add another question: I have a remote backend, where my PVR-250 resides. Since I don't need the silver remote for the backend, can I use it on one of my frontends, with my Irman? Or am I not understanding this correctly? I've got a learning remote (URC-8811), Lite-On SK-7551 IR keyboard and the Hauppage silver remote. My choice would be to use the JP1 function of the learning remote to teach it all the basic MythTV functions necessary, plus the power command for my TV (I've been trying to teach the remote the conventional way, and it won't budge from the factory defaults for some reason). Still, if I can get the Irman/silver remote to work with lirc, I'd like to try that to see if it would be usable. Any help or advice is most welcome. -sTv |
