Post subject:  Merging multiple sets of guide data - analog+digital cable?

I have three tuners in my KM system: two are connected directly to the cableco feed and receive all unscrambled analog channels (the "analog" tuners). The third is connected to a STB, controlled by an IR Blaster, and can receive certain premium digital channels as well as the same unscrambled channels as the other two cards (the "stb" tuner").

Zap2It provides two program guides for my area: one for the old analog system and one for the expanded digital system.

The two analog tuners use the analog guide data. After installing the stb tuner, I added the digital guide data for use with the stb tuner, after which the guide displayed duplicates of all the analog channels (not good) and one each of the premium channels (good). And although I didn't try it, I suspect that scheduling a recording for the analog instance of a channel would preclude it from being recorded on the stb tuner, and vice versa, thereby dumbing-down Myth's priority scheduling smarts.

So what I did was go into my Zap2It account and delete all the analog channels from the digital lineup. While this eliminated the duplicate analog channels, it now restricts the stb tuner to recording and watching only premium channels, which is kind of a waste. It would be desirable to use the stb tuner to receive all the channels it is capable of (analog and premium).

I guess what I need to do is somehow merge the guide data so that Myth knows that it can record all the analog channels from any tuner, while restricting premium channels to the stb tuner, while presenting only a single listing for each channel to the user.

Is there a way to accomplish this using Myth settings, mysql hacking, code changes, or something else...?

Search for a posting by me with my "update_database.sh" script. It merges a single channel from one source into another one, but it's written in terms of a parameterized function so that it's trivial to have it merge an arbitrary list of channels by calling the function for each one. Actually, here's the thread with the current version: http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=10075
