I wonder if anyone else has had this type of problem? I haven't found it in searches, but perhaps someone might have an idea.
I was watching a movie last night (from the hard drive), and a recording started in the background in the meantime. When I went to watch the recording later in the evening it was jittery, or perhaps the best term is stuttering? It appeared like it had been dropping frames, audio and video were both out.
I don't recall ever having this type of problem before, however to my knowledge I don't think I've ever watched a movie while a scheduled recording started up.
I set up a recording this morning to test, and watched another movie from the system -- it turned out the same way. This doesn't happen when recording one show and watching another, or doing anything else with the system as far as I can tell. The system setup is as follows:
Athlon64 3500+ (running at 1.15v)
1GB DDR RAM
Gigabyte K8NSC-939 Mainboard
Geforce4 MX440
Soundblaster sound card
PVR-250
PVR-150MCE
Seagate 320GB 16MB cache SATA drive
System temps were sitting at 35C throughout, and the processor never bumped above 50%. This current setup is a bit different from my old one; I upgraded to the 64 when my 'old' XP started topping 90C this summer. I was hesitant about the SATA drive; it's been rock solid since I got the system back up and running, but I have to admit it seems like the best candidate for 'when things go wrong'. I previously had a 300GB Seagate PATA drive which moved into my desktop system, since it's drive was failing.
If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them

I can make sure not to watch a movie if a recording is coming up, but of course figuring out what's causing the problem would be best.
