Hi,
I'm trying to update my lircrc file so that I can use xine with the MCE 2 remote. I have the default file included with KnoppMyth R5D1 and all the mappings are for "prog = irxevent".

I copied another lircrc file found on this forum and there are separate mappings for "prog = mythtv" "prog = xine" "prog = zsnes", etc... but when I try to use these, none of them work.

Is there something I need to do to get these to work?

At the moment xine is not usable with the remote becuase the keybindings are different to those in mythtv. I tried changing them, but it doesn't completely work, especially for navigation and where mythtv uses 2 keys to do the same function and xine doesnt

Just out of curiousity, which remote do you have?

If you have the hauppauge remote that comes with the winttv pvr, with silver on the top and black on the bottom, you want to use the Silver remote option.

Run lirc-reconfig.sh as root to change your remote. If your remote is the one I described, select hauppauge (16) and C. I think you need to restart mythtv after. At least I have to after running it.

You can alternatively edit the conf files yourself but I'd suggest trying this first.

The wiki has a description of that remote plus what to do:
http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/MCE_Remote

I'm not positive if none of the lirc-config.sh options are correct or not though.
