I'm trying to run R5C7.
I have a PVR-350.

When ever I got to watch TV I get a black screen. I can see the TV guide and can change channels and get the guide to change. Once the guide fades the TV is completely blank. One odd thing is that when I go to "watch tv" it will start at composite 0.

In the setup I can scan for channels and it finds all the channels that come with basic cable. I believe I have set up the capture card, video source, and input connections correctly. I had to change the tuner to "tuner 0" until it could find the channels. I've also tryed to pick different frequencies, default and us-cable.

Any ideas??

Hi,

If you can select a valid channel with the guide, then press enter to select it. There is a setup menu that will allow the change with out confirmation.

Also I add a seperate source label for compoiste, being creative I called it "Video" and then I add a channel designated to channel 1 with a freq id of 1. This is handy to use with a vcr, or a camera.

My regular source for tuner I called "RF" and then I add a channel designated to channel 3 with a freq id of 3. This is handy as it is fairly universal (us anyway) channel for unusual sources.

At this point the system will be happy when you assign the input connections tuner and composite and you should be able to switch between the two channels. 1 & 3. When you change channels it needs to a valid # or it won't change.

Suggest you stay with the R5C7 for now because of the 350. There is one tweak that needs to be done and that is called log rotate, (I need to look that up again) and after that should be a very stable package.

I think you misunderstood me. I can change channels but whatever channel I try to display is just black. It is like the cable is just not pluged in.

Hi,

Ya, maybe a little... If the antenna wasn't connected you should see snow, not black. Black would indicate that it is looking at the composite port and there is no body home.

You didn't per-change set "preset channel"? It is under alt s #4
