Post subject: | burning dvds on windows from mythtv |
I've been starting to collect a few shows I want to keep, burn to dvd, but my dvd burner is on my windows box. I found the link to using smb on mythtv for potentially viewing shows on windows boxes, but all I really want to do is use my windows box to download the mpgs, and burn to dvds. Ideally I'd love to use my windows box (windows 2000) to edit the commercials out, since the keyboard in the tv room isn't in a comfy spot to use it. I've been using putty to connect to the mythtv machine, and downloaded psftp to download the mpgs. The big problem is really going to be figuring out which mpgs are which shows/episodes. I figure worst case I can connect to the mysql database and run queries, but considering that mythtv has been out for years, I'm wondering if there isn't an easier way. Is there a utility for windows that will connect to the mythtv system, list out the recordings, and let me select one to download? I'd really like to avoid installing anything on the mythtv box, as it works and I'd rather than risk messing it up. |

Ok, I feel pretty stupid. I realize now that the knoppmyth install, by default, installs all the software to do most of what I need already. All I have to do is run the burn dvd option, select my videos, and tell it to create an iso instead of burning the dvd. Then it's merely a matter of ftping the iso over. |
