I'd started recording Amazing Race at 7pm, and after watching something else until about 7:15, I wanted to verify the show.

Since CBS has lately had the annoying tendency to delay all programming because of sporting events, I figured I'd check that the show had actually started at 7pm as it was scheduled.

Still in the recordings display, and having just deleted what we'd finished watching, I clicked what I thought was LEFT on my remote, which turned out to be record, and mythtv didn't like it one bit. It gave me a screen saying there wasn't anything to record. That was fine, since I didn't actually want to specify a new recording there.

Unfortunately, mythtv seemed to have locked up. I couldn't get out of the screen. Even using the keyboard and pressing escape or the arrow keys wouldn't release the window.

So I ended up pushing reset, which after rebooting, went back into recording TAR. This was fine, except that being an idiot I forgot that it would record as a second file.

So I went into the list of recordings, saw the red highlight of TAR being recorded, and after playing it, saw some Amazing Race footage happening, so assumed it had actually started at 7pm as scheduled.

Much to my regret, it hadn't. The first half hour of the first recording turned out to be the previous show.

This could have been a much shorter post simply describing the lockup, but I really wanted to express how much I hate CBS.

The basic point of my post is that there seems to be a lockup happening if you hit the record button while in the list of recorded shows, at least if you've just viewed and deleted a show.

Has anyone else noticed it?
