Post subject: | Lost formatting in MythWeb after power outage |
I had a power outage today that resulted in my box being shut down abrubtly. After getting the box back up my MythWeb interface has no formatting and is missing most of the features. I looked in the apache logs and found a couple of "File does not exist: /var/www/mythweb/settings.php" and also the same for /var/www/mythweb/themes/wap/pngbehavior.htc I tried finding copies of these missing files elswhere on the system and coping them to the location where Myth seems to be looking but that didn't work. Mythweb continues to work without formatting and no more errors are written to the log. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks in advance. Bill McMullin |

Well since you posted this under installation, I'm going to suggest a backup and auto-upgrade. If you haven't done much in the way of customization (installing extra packages, hand editing config files, ...), or can reproduce your changes easily, this is a good way to get the system back to a "known good" state. |

I would really like to avoid doing anything that requires me to reconfigure the settings, other than the ones that seem to be missing. Linux isn't my strong point and I know it will get completely screwed up. This system (R5D1) has been running beautifully for a couple of months now and I'd hate to risk a big mistake. Is there a way to just reinstall Mythweb? Thanks again. Bill |

This is the whole point of a _backup_ (saving things) and _upgrade_ (reinstalling while keeping your saved settings, recordings, ...). |

Please forgive my dumb questions. Are you suggesting I now do a backup of the system in its current state then do an upgrade? Does the upgrade install generic config files? Bill |
