Hi All,
I've just done my first Myth 0.20 install on a system that has Haupauge PVR 350. I have an S-Video output from a Motorolla Set Top Box going to the s-video input on the PVR350. Recording and playback, live pause, and other live features seem to be working great. I can even take the .mpg file, copy it over to another system and play it - it all works great. I'm using S-video input to the PVR 350 - because otherwise I cannot record some of the "encrypted" channels - the TV tuner cannot tune above like 98 or something.

I have set up a "channel 3" which is just the s-video input and it works in "Watch TV" mode. However, if I create a "Manual" schdeule then the time comes, the status says "recording" under "manage recordings" - however, nothing gets written. Also, if I use MythWeb to check the "Backend Status" the encoder says that it is not in use.

Can anyone give me some trouble-shooting suggestions? I am comfortable working at the command level in unix - are there logs I could check to see what is happening?

Thanks,

Kevin

is ther a way to change settings remotely using only ssh? editing config file or maybe even a curses style config utility. I have not gotten vnc to work on this box just yet.

I had this exact same problem. What was happening was the irblaster (or my friends wife) was turning off the cable box before a recording. What I ended up doing was using the motorola serial port for changing channels(because it's better than the irblaster), and adding the no power command to the script. Good Luck :)

Also for VNC - apt-get install tightvncserver. Whenever you need a VNC then just type vncserver in ssh to start the server.
