Post subject:  non-serial IRblaster help needed

Hello all,

Click Here for a picture of the thing...

I have this thing which I'm assuming is an IR blaster somebody gave me. Unfortunately, I am not sure how to set it up. I want to use it because I have digital cable and of course the digital cable signal must come after the box, and thus the channel-changing must be done via IR blaster.

However, this thing is NOT a serial port; in fact it has a plug-in exactly like the plug-in for my Hauppauge PVR-350 IR Receiver. Otherwise during the Knoppmyth setup I would've said, "YES" at the point where it asked me if I had a serial port IR blaster.

Can anybody point me in the right direction as to how to even install this thing? Do I plug it into the hole for IR on my PVR-350? If not, is the thing completely worthless?

Can anybody offer some assistance here? Maybe point me to a better forum article/ knoppmythwiki page?

It's most likley the IR dongle for a PVR-150, unfortunately the PVR-350 doesn't have the hardware to support it...

Actually doesn't look like the PVR-150 one (picture), maybe it's from a TIVO or the like, but the answer still applies.
