Post subject: | New internal player for mythtv |
I have just upgraded to R5E50. I was trying out the new default internal player for playing DVD's, VOB, and ISO files and have noticed a couple of things and was wondering if anyone else has or has any idea's. I really like the new features of it just having one player and it new options. Here are some things bad things. 1. Seems to studier when you do chapter skip on all formats and the audio gets off. 2. Doesn't seem to decode anything higher than 5.1 does like DTS. 3. When you fastfoward play doesn't put it back to normal speed. 4. When playing a DVD it seems to mount it because you can't eject it after by hitting the eject on the DVD or using the new eject option on the menu. 5. When it starts it says Default setting what are different setting and were are they. If this is not the right forum let me know and I will move it. |

I had similar problems with stuttering audio when playing back .vob files. I gave up and went back to mplayer for "video" and xine for dvd. |

I still think xine is better for dvd because of tvtime postprocessing (deinterlacing, denoise3d, and unsharp). Seriously that gives output comparable to a progressive player with expensive hardware scalers etc. |

true.....but I do like the menu option that brings up a menu and also that when you hit info it tells you the time in the movie you know 50:30/120:25. That is nice because there is no resumer with xine or the internal one so you know where to go back to if you exit out and want to come back later. |
