how do I reconfigure the backend ? I installed everything, but now I cannot reconfigure what I set up in the beginning (i.e. scan for channels).

Follow these steps to get back into the MythTV Setup menu.
Press 'Esc' on your keyboard or the 'go back' button on your remote repeatedly until you're asked if you really want to exit MythTV. Select 'Yes'.
Hold down 'Alt' and hit '2' to stop the backend.
Hold down 'Alt' and hit 'S'. The mythtv-setup GUI should come up.
After you are done making changes in mythtv-setup hold down 'Alt' and hit '3' to restart the backend.
Hold down 'Alt' and hit 'M'. The mythtv frontend GUI should come back up.
