Does anybody know how to reset alsamixer back to defaults?

I was using a jumper cable from my tunner card's audio out to my sound card's line in to amplify the sound. Now I do not need this anymore because I'm now using 'S-video and taking the sound straight from my DirectTV receiver, since it it ampified it sound loud and distorted.

Can anybody help me whith this? thanks in advance!

Perhaps the Settings in the Frontend in Utilities/Setup->Setup->General->3rd Screen.
In addition for the card itself Utilities/Setup->Setup->TV Settings->Recording Profiles->Software Encoders (v4l)->profile->3rd Screen.

Thanks a lot Bruce for your help, as allways you have been of great help, I was able to reduce my volume so it could match regular TV, is there anywhere that you know in this program that I could set the bass and the trebble? I have no bass at all and too much trebble.

You may have to do that adjustment in aumix or alsamixer, I don't know if you save their settings, do they get reset if you reboot. You may have to try that out.

i've tried both aumix and alsamixer but neither give mt trebble and bass adjustment which is just what I need, Does anybody know how to adjust the trebble and bass for the sound card?
