Sorry I have been digging through here trying to find the answer before I posted this. I can not figure out how to burn a dvd from a TV recording, that will play back on a standard dvd player. This is not a PC DVD it is a govideo DVD player. When I burn a dvd it is in a mpg format and my dvd players will not read it. A pc will play it back fine, though. Thanks. |

Some DVD players won't playback homemade DVDs. You an also try DVD+R or -R instead of mixing... I don't think anyone as ask on the forum before, so you may want to Google.. |

I've found that my low end Panasonic DVD player will handle about anything you throw at it (if there are audio, video, or image files on a CD or DVD it'll find them and play them, it's almost scary), but other folks players are pickier. To work with them I've had the best luck using recordings made at "official" DVD resolutions (720x480) using MPEG-2/PS encoding, converted to a vanilla UFS DVD ISO image, and burned to DVD-R media. |

Are you using MythBurn or are you doing it in Windows? |

I just made my first one today, and it works well. I did notice that the it sets itself to ISO by default, which is probably not what you want. |

For those who want to know the playback capabilities of their set-top DVD players check out www.videohelp.com they have a pretty complete database of players and what discs types they do and don't work with. Lots of other good information too! Martian |
