When I play a DVD the IR doesn't do anything, including stopping or ejecting the meda, however the keyboard (via VNC) does work. Is there some configuration problem? I have a silverstone case with the imon-pad IR

Using irw, I can see that the codes are being read, but for some reason myth doesn't act on them.

Does it work with the rest of MythTV?
Do you have an entry for xine or mplayer in /home/mythtv/.mythtv/lircrc for the various keys?
It's possible you may need to create a link to the above file from /home/mythtv/ .

Yes, it works in myth and while watching TV and recordings. Does DVD playing require different settings? I have a /home/mythtv/.lircrc which I have my myth settings.

What player are you using for DVDs? It sounds like the keys aren't defined for that player.

Its the latest knopp, so Xine I guess. What file is required? I'm surprised its not there as I haven't changed the defaults.

Thanks. i found the thread on xine controls and now I have a handle on it. I just have to change the names to match my lircrc.

But I DO wonder why, if the knoppmyth dist sets up Xine as the default player, that they also don't put the default xine commands into the default .lircrc file. It can't do any harm.

Is the default player in R5E50 Xine? I thought they went to the Internal player...

Anyway, the lirc settings wouldn't exist if your remote isn't known/supported, or you installed and configured a new driver for your remote that uses a different set of names/codes. I don't believe the "imon-pad IR" has a default setup in KM yet, of course I could be wrong...

There are no xine settings in the default lircrc file at all.

For KnoppMyth, the default is Xine. If remote binds for your remote and Xine don't exist, send it me.
