Hi. I have a problem that I can't seem find a solution to so maybe someone can help. I setup mythtv last night using the latest knoppmyth version. I have dish network and I've signed up at zap2it and configured everything already. The problem is when I want to change channels, the channels don't change. I've tried changing channels thru the program guide and manually by pushing the up and down keys. The results are the same, the channel remains the same. The display would say that I'm on the channel I selected but it's actually not the channel. It's the channel that the satellite receiver was originally on.

How do you have your KnoppMyth box set up to control the cable/satellite box?

Do you have an external tuner control script setup?

What kind of connection or ir/rf transmitter are you using for the software to send control signals back to the box?

Have you looked at the HowTo documents on the wiki? For example:

I too can not change channels.

I have found out that my problem is that the permissions on my serial port (I use a serial connection to my cable box to change channels) do not allow mythtv to write to it. I can manually change it, but on reboot it reverts to only allowing root access.

I have not checked the wiki yet.

I have my mythbox setup to my satellite receiver using pvr-150 and the supplied remote and ir receiver and blaster it came with. The remote actually works but I'm assuming that I don't have myth properly configured to take advantage of the ir blaster. I will read thru those links you posted. Thanks for you help again.
