I have 2 systems named mythtv and I need to change one of them and switch it to being a front end. however when I change the hostname, it refuses to load mythfrontend for some cryptic reason. I don't see any setting in setup to change this. What else do I need to change? Danial |

Changing hostnames is definitely not as trivial as it seems it would be. http://www.mythtv.org/docs/mythtv-HOWTO ... ml#ss23.15 |

The hostname is widely used in the database, to keep settings for multiple systems separate. See http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php? ... nlyInstall for the rundown on the necessary changes. EDIT: ceenvee703 beat me to it, and with a very good link. |

Danial If you are gonna switch it to just being a front end, it might be easier to just wipe and reinstall. |
