I'm running Knoppmyth with a coax cable line running direct into my tuner card (pvr250). I have basic analog cable with Comcast. I get scedule data from Schedule Direct.

Comcast changed the channel lineup last night at midnight. I receive basically all of the same channels, they just moved the numbers all around...

Speed was 28 now its 3
ESPN was 24 now its 4
History was 56 and now its 38
..you get the idea....its for every channel but one
(there are also some added channel numbers where there were none before, and there are some dropped channel numbers)

Schedule Direct has not yet updated their listing for my area to reflect the change (I have sent them the channel change info and they have passed it along to "TMS")

-Is there a way for me to manually reassign the channel numbers in Myth to the appropriate stations?

-Do I have to wait for Schedule Direct before I do anything?

Thanks

Wow, that sucks. I think you gotta wait.

Probably better to wait if you can, but If you have a mapping of the channels and are impatient I've posted the script that you need under hints & tips. http://knoppmyth.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=15685

The trick is to setup a 2nd (generated) lineup and use that as your "video source". You generate the lineup from the original which you're getting from SD via a mapping script which has lines that say something like this:
Code:
# Speed
/usr/local/bin/copy_channel.sh 1028 2003
# ESPN
/usr/local/bin/copy_channel.sh 1024 2004
# History
/usr/local/bin/copy_channel.sh 1056 2038

See the link above for more details about how to set this up.

Thanks for the help TJC

I went a different route before I saw your post...

I played with Myth last night and I went in and edited the "Mythtv Channel Info" listing through Mythweb.

I went down the list of channels and changed the "channelnum" and "freqid" to reflect my new channel lineup. Some channels were dropped, so I just deleted those lines. This seemed to change the "listings" page in myth to be pretty close to correct. Anything that is a brand new channel obviously has no data but I think there are maybe only 3 new channels.

I did a mythfilldatabase and it didnt go back to original, so I might be ok for a temporary fix.
For the moment I'm happy with it enough until SD straightens things out on their end. (unless their is something I overlooked....on the surface it looks liveable)
