After I fixed the path to libXvMCNVIDIA_dynamic (R5E50 autoupgrade) and got the lovely grey OSD again I found my mythtv box had developed a glitch when I try to edit the cutlist of a recording (by typing 'E' while watching it). After a few right-arrow presses the screen no longer advances through the video. If I left-arrow, then right-arrow again it might resume for a bit, but it craps out again after a few more advances. Changing the MPEG decoder to a non-XvMC method cures the problem. I don't remember having this problem with R5D. Before launching into a detailed debugging session can anyone tell me if you've heard of this already? I've done some searching here and on the mythtv list to no avail, but I can't believe it's just me. |

Does it happen just when editing or when playing the recording too? I had that problem playing some recordings when some data got corrupted. |

It is an old problem. My current "production box" (I think it is R5A39) does the same thing. If the recording is perfect, I can usually edit OK as long as I don't try to go backwards after juming forwards. If it has glitches (e.g. DVB or ATSC in a poor reception area), then XvMC is a hit and miss affair, let alone editing when XvMC is enabled. |
