Using Knoppmyth R5E50, I was attempting to archive some previously recorded TV shows with cut lists using Export Video Files|Create DVD, but during the archive process, the Log Viewer would indicate "Failed while running mythtranscode to cut commercials and/or clean up an mpeg2 file" and "Failed to run mythtranscode to remove unwanted segments". Needless to say, the final product had the segments that weren't cut out.

While trying the Mytharchive procedure again (and getting the same message about the failure to remove unwanted segments) I read that someone suggested changing the Transcode profiles from RTjpeg to mpeg4. So I clicked on Cancel in the Log Viewer screen within Create DVD, changed the transcode profiles as suggested, then rebooted.

Apparently, the Create DVD hadn't finished cancelling prior to rebooting, since now (12 hours later) when I try again to Export Video Files|Create DVD it displays the Log Viewer screen, instead of the screens to create a DVD. TOP doesn't show any processes related to Mytharchive running.

How can I "reset" Mytharchive so I can Create DVD's again instead of getting the Log Viewer screen?

Thanks for the link - guess I used the wrong terminology in my search.

To sum it up what fixed this, I simply deleted everything in the myth/tmp/logs folder.

This allowed me to get back to the proper screens in the Create DVD application.

Thanks again!

If you run into this problem again, there should be two .lck files in /myth/tmp/logs, deleting these should allow you to restart Mytharchive.
