When I am watching live tv mythtv just exits after one hour of watching. I have no idea why thats happening. Is it a configuration problem or my myth box ?
I have got a nvidia 5200. A hauppauge pvr 150...(actually I bought a hauppauge pvr 250 off ebay.. that’s what it said there... but when I was configuring remote while installation of myth frontend I had to select option d which said "d. PVR-150 w/ transmitter and receiver" coz when I choose "b. Grey remote" my remote was not fully mapped... any idea which PVR I have got???) I have installed R5E50.

Also is there a way to increase the quality of the picture. the picture is a little blurry.
the picture quality of the live TV is a little depreciated as compared to what my settop box when connected directly to TV is giving.
Any tweaking I could possibly do? Is it in the capture setting?
In the recording settings of the following
* Default
* Live TV
* Low Quality
* High Quality
I have all of these 4 options setup the highest resolution of I think 720x480.

Is it the pvr-150 card which is bad?

I would greatly appreciate any comment/suggestion/help

Does it stop with this error: "Error Was encountered while displaying video"? This is discussed in this thread. It seems to be a problem that appears for some people.

What bruce_s01 said.

I'd also recommend upgrading to R5F1 since there are more fixes for this issue in the MythTV 0.20-fixes branch between the version used in R5E50 and the one used in R5F1.

I will check for Error Was encountered while displaying video error next time it happens. Some times the box shuts down is that a different overheating case?

Very good possibility. Open up the case, clear out all the dust bunnies and see if that helps. Make sure your fans are spinning...

Thanks slowtolearn!
I cleaned the box. But the problem is that only the front end goes down. Then, I have to type
Code:
mythfrontend
to get it back up again.
