Hi,

I'm using R5E50 with S3 suspend2 script to get a fast boot. To get this working I need to close the frontend before i go to sleep otherwise does the live tv playback behave strange after the reume. I also start the frontend when I resume from S3 of course. So what I need is a way to make a clean shutdown of the frontend from a bash script (will be executed by irexec). I do not want to close the X-server, only the frontend. Anyone got a good idea?

PS. It must be a clean way to shutdown even I am in live tv mode otherwise will the live tv session be stuck on the backend forever.

I ended up using the remote network control feature of mythfrontend to send command "jump mainmenu" on TCP port 6546 from a simple perl script and then sending SIGTERM to the process to kill it. This ensures that no tuner is left in recording state when I exit from live tv. But this is not as straight forward as I wish it would be... Is there a better way to do this?
