Looks fun. I might have some time this weekend with a test box I'm going to be working on. I DL'd the tar and the README speaks of placing a file in the cgi-bin. Exactly where is this? He's using MythDora, is KM's equivalent /usr/bin? |

cgi-bin is in the web servers (apache) folder. /var/www/cgi-bin ...or something like that. |

You can probably create the cgi-bin in /var/www since that's the htdocs root, though I couldn't tell you if apache is configured for that to work and I don't have a change to check at the moment. |

Wow, so he reinvented the wheel. Sorry about that ![]() Even so, does anyone here have an iPhone that they can try with the web remote, just so we can say, "Control MythTV from your iPhone" in the release notes? |

I can confirm that the web remote works with the iPhone out of the box. It works best with the horizontal interface in wide mode on the iPhone as the vertical is way too small. It would be best to maybe take the remote pics from the above link to size correctly with the iPhone and maybe make a new page just for the iPhone. Also it's a bit clunky as the page has to refresh each time a button is pushed, but alas it works! |

(im kind of a low tech guy. my phone is like 4 years old... anyway.. ) would you pay money to your telco each time you used your iphone as a remote? i presume it just sends a bluetooth (or something) signal to a receiver on your box .. but do u pay for this? also.. i like adobe illustrator. would it be hard to make themes for the web remote? |

Good questions. The iPhone connects to my in house wifi network so it's no telco network usage (however the iPhone plan comes with unlimited data so it wouldn't be an extra charge anyway.) I'll let someone else answer the web themes questions as I have little knowledge of that area. |

Sounds like it'd be ok to say, "Control MythTV from your iPhone" in the release notes, then ![]() |

I find the web remote in knoppmyth hard to use with the iphone. It works, but is WAY too small to use when shown in the iPhone. If you resize the screen, it will revert back to the small size as soon as you press a button because it reloads the page. But, yes, it does technically work. |

I use that with my iPhone and find my iPhone is a much better remote then the imon pad that came with my silverstone lc20m. Definately something worth throwing on knoppmyth. The built in web remote just doesn't cut it with the iphone. |

Can you give details as to the setup for the above on KM? download the archive and extract it. copy the remote dir to /var/www/iphone created the dir /usr/lib/cgi-bin moved remote.py to /usr/lib/cgi-bin then just point your iphone to http://yourmachine/iphone |
