Post subject: | HDHomerun QAM configuration help |
I got my HDHomerun configured except for the QAM channel configuration. If I understand correctly, I need to scan for channels, view each channel to figure out what it is, edit the XMLTVID for each unknown channel, and then create a custom lineup on SD which contains the channels that I found? I see that there is a QAM channel listing page on silicondust.com but is there a way to create a channels.conf file from this listing? |

So I have my PVR500 working off of a SD cable lineup. As for my HDHR, I have gone through the channels and assigned the XMLTVID to each one. Then I created a SD digital cable lineup containing the digital channels that I receive. At this point, the HDHR channels have show listings but the channel name and description are not being populated. What do I have to do to get the channel names populated? If I have the same channel in both lineups, will the same show be recorded by both tuners at the same time? |

I ended up going through the channels. I noted the mythtv channel identifier, the station callsign, and the xmltvid in a spreadsheet. Then I used the spreadsheet to construct SQL which I then pasted into mysql. The xmltvid determines the lineup from SD. The station callsign is important for scheduling. If you have the same channel on 2 different lineups, then they both need to have the same callsign or myth may record the same show on both channels at the same time. |
