Post subject: | Mythfilldatabase Partial Download |
I installed R5F27, logged in as root, and invoked mythfilldatabase. For some reason, the progress bar indicated that only a partial download of the XML data was performed. A quick check of the system status shows: Code: There's no guide data available!
It also shows that start and finish time \date. The "result:" field is null. For example, only 71 of 240 K would download. I am unsure of what questions are to be asked to diagnose and find root cause of the problem. Suggestions are highily appreciated. |

Not sure how this is a KM installation issue, but...gatorback wrote: A quick check of the system status shows: Perhaps your internet connection was not up to snuff at the time? Or maybe SD's servers/connections were having troubles?

I had this problem in FL and in the Northeast: each site had a different server. This leads me to believe that the problem is not a connection problem. The only commonality is that I used the same install disk, Hauppauge tuner and the SD service. Any diagnostic questions would be appreciated. If anyone has seen this problem before (I tried the search function here), I would like to hear about it. I want to take due diligence before bringing before the senior contributors. |

Take a look at your /var/log/mythtv/mythbackend.log(s), they may hold a clue. You could always run mythfilldatabase with the "-v all" option - EXTREMELY verbose if it gets data. If you posted a snippet of what you are seeing maybe someone will have a solution. However, if you aren't getting a complete download then my guess is either a connection/server problem, or maybe SD has a bad/incomplete set of data for one of the days of your particular lineup (or perhaps something is incorrect with your SD lineup itself). After ruling out connection problems I would think your best bet would be to contact SD... |

Thank you for the suggestion: this put me on the path to diagnosis. Logs indicated the need to bind video sources to my card's inputs. Code: 2007-11-12 15:08:54.636 ChannelBase(2) Error: InitializeInputs(): Could not get inputs for the capturecard. Perhaps you have forgotten to bind video sources to your card's inputs? I corrected this oversight and rebooted the system. This error is no longer appears in /var/log/mythtv/mythbackend.log: Code: 2007-11-12 16:02:06.259 MainServer::HandleAnnounce Monitor

Unfortunately, it is the data for my Florida home and not my current area. I will start a new thread to address this new problem. |
