So I think I need to fix one of two problems. I have some HD content in mkv files. It seems that mythtv doesn't want to seek through these with the internal player. I can't fast forward, rewind or skip. I have seen there is a ticket for this dating back to late 2007 (fixed in the next version of myth hopefully). Any viable workaround for this? I've tried just playing the video in xine, but I get no audio for some reason. I'm not sure which setting needs to get fixed here. I have some AC3 videos that are soundless too in xine, though regular MP3 audio videos work fine. Also mplayer errors out on these videos too. Any suggestions? |

Have you tried mplayer? You may have to update mplayer and codec. I can view/seek mkv just fine on mine... ac3 audio is fine as well. |

No dice. After following those instructions, mplayer doesn't play sound on ANY of my video files (no big deal, I don't usually use it anyway). VLC seems to do the trick, though having trouble with surround in it, as in, it doesn't work as surround. |
