Post subject:  blank screen when watching tv

sorry if this is the wrong area to post this in (wasn't sure which one to use). I'm trying to convert my old knoppmyth box to be a recording station for some security cameras I installed around my parents barn (someone tried to set it on fire last week). The box had been stored in the barn in question for about a year and the previous installation wouldn't boot so I've installed a fresh copy of r5f27. The system is an amd 1800+ with a pvr 150 in it and ran just find before storage (the old installation). I believe that the card is setup right (system reconized it with out any help and when asked to scan for channels it found the channel 3 that the cameras should be coming through just fine). The problem is when I exited the setup and went into the frontend to watch tv to see if the signal was making it through -> nothing but a blank screen that sticks around for 2 minutes and then returns me to the main mythtv frontend screen. If anyone has any idea what've missed I'd love some help. thanks :?

(*Sigh* - There really should be a FAQ on this board)

A quick search for "blank screen" or "black screen" should have turned up numerous posts, most of which will point you to http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php? ... WatchingTV

If you are looking a security solution, might I sugest motion or zoneminder? R5F27 already includes motion, which the next release will include zoneminder (as there is now a Myth plugin for it).
