Hi *,

I have quite annoying issue with freezing LiveTV.

Symptoms:
When freeze occurs I can bring up OSD and OSD shows progress of LiveTV buffering time and playback time is constant. Bahaviour is infact exactly the same like paused LiveTV. Pressing pause/play changes nothing. Solution is only quit LiveTV and enter again. Also I have impression that freeze moment is corelared with programm change.

I was tested various SVN versions counting that maybe it is bug and maybe issue is resolved. Unfortunately issues is still present.
Now I'm on 0.21-stable SVN 17166.
As problem is quite annoying for family - do somebody have idea how to minimize this effect.

My setup:
-Knoppmyth r5f27 upgraded to 0.21 via src compile
-BE is 0.21-fixes SVN 17190, 3xPVR250
-FE is MiniMyth 0.21-fixes SVN 17166.

Thx for advance

Start the frontend from a console. Then check to see what errors are being thrown when it frezes.

also what hardware is on the frontend?

I have seen issues like this with different opengl synce options.
You could try change them to see if it make a difference.

datobin1

thx for replay

FE hw is Abit An-M2HD (nv 7050PV based). CPU is AMD X2 4400.

I launch mm via console.

Well, now we have more info for nailing issue:

Observations:

-during play of LiveTV I'm getting mped2video errors on FE, every few sec error.

-however playing this exactly record from LiveTV recordings group is OK (no errors).

So potential issue place might be:
-hw (i.e. errors on NIC caused by bad behavior of ivtv)
-software (myth running LiveTV introduces errors on BE HDD-FE path).

Well - I don't believe in first one as my BE can simultaneously record form 3 PVRs and do network transfers for 3 FE without issues (to be sure I will verify it again).
So it looks rather like software issue.
Do You have idea how to further track this issue ?
br
